Medicals – Full Examination
In South Africa, a full occupational general medical examination is typically required under certain circumstances to ensure the health and safety of employees in the workplace. These examinations are often mandated by occupational health and safety regulations and are conducted to assess an individuals fitness for specific job roles or to identify any health risks associated with workplace activities.
Medicals Inclusion:
- Physical Examination
- Blood Pressure Examination
- Eye Test – Snellen Card/ Keystone
- Lung Function Test
- Audiometric (Hearing) Test
- Urine Test
- Medical History
This medical examination needs to be completed by either an occupational medical practitioner (OMP) or an occupational health nurse (OHN). A proper certificate must be issued, confirming the test results and the fitness of the individual and this certificate must be kept on record and carefully controlled.
